Better Late Than Never

Sony will be releasing a new battery pack for the Playstation Portable on October the 27th in Japan. The new battery (PSP-280) holds 2200 mAh of power, approximately 20% more than previous batteries. The standard battery gives about 4 hours of movie playing for every recharge, so the new battery would be about 48 minutes more efficient. No word has been announced whether the new battery will come as a standard in newer PSP models. But if not, PSP users will have to pay about $46 U.S extra to purchase a battery that can play movies for 48 minutes more, that would be about $61 Australian dollars.

Mind you that even with 48 minutes more, giving a total of just under 5 hours of movie life, still cannot compare to the 9 hours of movies a movie player on an SP or DS can give. By the way, the movie player can be bought off Lik Sang, or type in "GBA Movie Player" on eBay :).

Sony are also launching a new memory stick pro duo. A 1Gb will sell for 9,500 yen, which equates to about 83 dollars U.S, or $108 A.U. Though this price is a lot cheaper than most other memory sticks of that compacity, it isn't cheap. For that amount, you can easily buy 2 PSP games.
